I see far too many instances of what should be Government by and for the people that has instead become a governing of the people with no respect for its citizens and most especially of its taxpayers. And yes, Virginia, there is a difference.

We all win, or we all lose.

Leadership is defined by having the courage to raise your hand and point out to The Powers That Be: “Excuse me, TPTB. That is DUMB. Have you considered this alternative?”

Some people argue for “civility”, for being “nice”.

Walt Disney is the patron saint of political correctness:

“If you cain’t say sumthin’ nice, don’ say nuthin at awl…”

Certainly, start out that way.

But if they are blowing you off and purposely trying to hurt you, then it’s time to stop being nice:

Laws and rules are worthless unless enforced.

Enforcement starts with gentle, but direct language, and then with strong language.

But if they remain intransigent, it progresses ultimately to the point of a gun.

There aren’t enough policemen or lawyers in heaven to overcome the lawlessness that has become the norm in our society. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to stand up, speak out, and take action in the face of injustice.

Being truthful, courageous, and committed gives you the shortest path from “being nice” to the point of the gun.
